SPINACTIVE takes Biomimicry as its core inspiration. That is, the form and function of our garments being influenced by and learned from biological species and their processes.
For the A/W 2017 season SPINEXPOTM found creative direction in the concept of Biomimicry, leading the SPINEXPLORE trend forum to be divided into five main themes; Animal, Insects & Invertebrates, Plants & Algeas, Earthscapes & Skies and Molecular Dimension.
For Spring/ Summer 2017, SPINACTIVE presented the concept of SOFT POWER which focused on how sportswear can motivate and inform the athlete to ensure the benefits of every workout are maximized.
The trends for SPINEXPOTM Spring/ Summer 2017 were presented on three creative platforms; SPINEXPLORE, SPINEXCLUSIVE and SPINACTIVE.
Our inspiration for the Autumn/Winter 2016/17 collection originates from one of the earliest and purest forms of design: craft. Three different approaches to craft – tailoring, sculpture and architecture – are explored and linked to sport disciplines. The result is three distinct collections each with their own identity; Impact, Adventure & Flow.
The Trends at SPINEXPOTM this season were presented on 3 creative platforms: SPINEXCLUSIVE, SPINEXPLORE and SPINACTIVE.
The S/S 16 edition of SPINEXPOTM explored the theme of Going Deeper on several levels, the first of which was evidenced in the trend forum which exhibited a wide range of creative options and interpretations on how the spinner’s yarns can be used in a variety of ways, from handcrafted crochet and computer engineered knitwear to wovens and accessories in the form of shoes and bags that were created in collaboration with the design studio BAlilAB.
The A/W 15 edition of SPINEXPOTM approached the evolving world of fashion and knitwear by marrying two seemingly opposite themes, activewear and handcraft. While activewear is known for featuring the latest developments in performance fibers, handcraft tends to lean in more natural and noble materials that have a heritage feel.
SPINEXPO examines the yarns influenced by the world of paper and presents the stitches and colours that are trending for Spring/Summer 2015.
